Why did ThreatLocker block a program, and how long does approval take?

Data Cube Systems protects client computers with ThreatLocker, which only lets approved software run. Applications already used in your company and the built-in applications ThreatLocker supports are approved automatically. A new or unknown program is held and sent to Data Cube Systems for review, and that review may need approval from your management, which can add time.

Why this is the protection working

Most malware is a program someone was tricked into running. Because ThreatLocker blocks anything that has not been approved, an unknown program cannot run just because someone opened it. ThreatLocker also runs its own 24x7 security operations center.

How to avoid waiting

  • Ask before you need it. If you know a new program is coming, tell Data Cube Systems in advance.
  • Say what it is and why you need it. The name, where it came from and what it is for speed up the review.
  • If your company requires management sign-off for new software, get it lined up early.
